Award of Excellence Received by Action Southwest

The Saskatchewan Economic Developer’s Association (SEDA) recognized Action Southwest Business Networks Coalition, as a “strategic economic alliance” that has assumed a leading role in developing a regional economy that has led to measurable success. On February 22, 2006 the “Outstanding Economic Development Initiative of 2006” award was excitedly received by the group at a banquet held in Saskatoon.
To celebrate this award and the one received last year from the Saskatchewan Council for Community Development for “Community 
Development Achievement of 2005”, they will be hosting an evening social “Determining Our Destiny Event” for everyone in the southwest region to attend.
The evening will commence with a presentation of the vision of the southwest region, a report card of success to date and acknowledgements of the awards received and the numerous volunteers who have participated in the initiative since its inception in 2004. Then followed by a key note speaker, Mr. Tom Ticknor, a leading North American business consultant who will discuss how businesses make site selection decisions, and the top 10 lessons in attracting investment to your community.
Action Southwest in partnership with the Saskatchewan Economic Developer’s Association and Trade Team Saskatchewan Investment Working Group will host the wine and hors d’oeuvres event on Tuesday, March 21, 2006 from 7 - 9 pm at the Southwest Centre for Entrepreneurial Development in Swift Current, SK.
