part of the framework currently being developed, Action Southwest
undertook a survey of a random sample of approximately 1200
businesses across the region. Responses were received

Million Poplar River Power Station Project
The
Poplar River Power Station has been a great source of economic
benefit to the community of Coronach and surrounding area for
many years. The recent $140 million project to improve
effieciencies at the plant further lends support to the future
of the plant and the region.

is truly amazing how the Southwest is growing. The community
of Gravelbourg
has become a hot-bed for entrepreneurs starting up businesses.
Over the last year 15 new businesses have started offering
services from movie rentals to reflexology to processing mustard.

Mayor Sharon Dickie has been busy
drumming up donations for the new community recreation complex.
After meeting with Gibraltar Exploration a wonderful donation

$15,000
was committed to the project. Great

Swift Current
Local
Manufacturer Lands $54M Contract
A new manufacturer in the city
of Swift Current, Modus Inc. recently landed a $54 million contract
with Suncor Energy to provide 1,500 portable accommodation unites
to the company. Congratulations Modus!!
The newly mergered Great Plains College has now added the services
of a local restaurant, Soup N' Such, to serve students meals
throughout the school year . Soup N' Such will still continue
their current downtown operation.
