Action Southwest Sponsorship Fund

The Action Southwest Sponsorship Fund has been established to assist the Action Southwest Business Networks Coalition (ASBNC) to begin implementation of phase III of this pilot project.

Since November 2004, Action Southwest and over 120 key regional stakeholders have been engaged in a bottom-up strategy to grow the southwest region. This broad-based regional initiative is the first of its kind in Saskatchewan. To date, communities have largely looked within their own boundaries for solutions to economic and social challenges faced, until now.

Action Southwest and its numerous volunteers have been at work shaping our region’s next steps in development. They have taken the opportunity to choose the future of our region. This initiative has identified a number of opportunities, challenges and issues facing our region that need to be addressed and acted upon to grow our industries and ultimately the Southwest.

The following projects were identified in phase I of this pilot project:

Phase II and III of our project has and will be moving a select number of these initiatives into an action phase through the formation of industry action teams, lead by private sector stakeholders and supported by government and private and public sector agencies. A number of key industry stakeholders have already committed to joining an action team and are anxious to get working on their initiatives.
